just because you have a walboro installed doesnt mean you are flowing more fuel... it means you have the ability to and are less likely to hit fuel cut. I love how people think that when you throw the walboro in you are all of a sudden flowing this high amount of fuel when in reality you are just able to flow more fuel for when the engine calls for it

why ? the fuel pump only allows the addition of more fuel. He may not be able to be tuned as aggressive without the pump but adding a pump does not require a retune
the new pump will flow more fuel too the fuel rail period. 255lph to 190lph in the stocker i believe. so if u are running the same pulsewidth with higher flowing pump would it not run rich. that is why it needs retuned. the pump runs constant rate not variable.
The fuel pressure regulator has a bypass/return. Extra fuel runs back to the tank through the return line. The only time this does not happen is if the pump you use as a replacement overpowers the stock fuel pressure regulator.
the pump swap should be able to be done without a retune. The factory fpr will keep the pressure to the rail the same.
However to get the benefit of the new pump a retune would be required
