The LFR7AIX has a gap of 0.032", so it will need to get pulled down to 0.020" to 0.024". And it doesn't have a platinum strip on the ground strap, so it will wear out more quickly. It does have the narrower ground strap though which NGK claims will allow more interaction between the spark and the fuel to give more complete combustion.

screw it... im just gonna stick with the stock plugs from the dealer.. there are a couple guys on here that work for mitsu that give better deals...

do the mitsu plugs need to be gapped or anything?

or do i just screw them in, torque them and call it a day?

I just ordered the stock NGK plugs. I see that they work great, so i don't think they need to be changed...

How often are we supposed to change them? every 3000 miles oil change?

The stock plug that you buy from Mitsu is the ILFR7H. Its only $11.60 on sparkplugs.com. Don't know if its pregapped. Its not a problem to gap a plug though if you have the proper gapping tool.

They dont come pregapped. At least for me it didn't. I bought a set of stock spark plugs from sparkplug.com. This is for a IX MR too.

hey bigric, I've been throwing a code also. I can't seem to get it to go away. I changed my spark plugs, wires and other stuff I could think of but the code is still there. It's kinda annoying.

same code ? Mine came after i got an eflash from one of the vendors, after multiple emails to him and his personal secretary without any reply i sought help elsewhere. I was also running VTA for a bit and i am thinking that it making me run rich killed my plugs. I have a code puller and reset the code, but it just comes back on again in an hour or so. I was talking to Christian from Cobb tuning and he said more then likely it isnt actually misfiring, just something the ECU sees as a misfire and throws the light and their is nothing i can really do about it. He said the Cobb access port has some functions to keep the ECU from throwing illegitimate codes which is coming out for our cars as we speak. Very smart guy he is ..... Im going back to the OEM plugs to see if this fixes things, if not, im lost i guess.
