Shorter isn't always better.

But b&m does make an adjustable that can reduce throw 45%, I think thats the shortest they make for evos.

I suggest driving your Evo for a while after you get it before deciding on mods such as this. Don't get impatient.

warr, do you even recommend a short throw shifter? and can you reuse the stock IX MR shirt knob with it?

i believe right now the only people doing short shift conversions for the MR are works.

i think it is due to the collar to keep you from accidentally going into reverse when shifting for 6th.

and last i read it is an in house thing with only them, and authorized works dealers.

Its not that its better. Its all a matter of preference really. Short shifters are notchy to me. A counter weighted shift knob can help make the shift easier but I am ok with the stock shifter.

EvilEVO800hp, Warrtalon is right, I think you should get an Evo before you even start planning mods.

There were none available to me when I had the 6spd. Now that I have a 5spd, I may try one, but the 5spd shifter is already shorter than my 6spd. It is also funny that I still have my 6spd knob on my 5spd, hah.

Kartboy makes them, so does Greddy, Works and a bunch of others. Try a search on here. You can probably find a few for sale.
