20g or 50 trim
That is the only real advantage I see going with a 50 trim setup... it lets you have the option for bigger turbos in the future.
Yeah come one, come all, come and git me sucka, i got a little sumptin sumptin waiting for ya..... muahahahaha
But in all seriousness, with my AMS kit I can ditch the 50 Trim and bolt on a GT35R or even a GT37R on anytime..... I had a shop locally selling the Precision GT37R for like $1200 new but I had to pass up on it, since I'm still on the stock bottom end..
This is what DB said in another post about the FP green, maybe I wont have to worry about you Green guys afterall

The green is going to have a very hard time making 500 whp on a Dynojet, so if 500 whp is your goal, I'd look to a different turbo.
discopotato, I know very little about all the numbers and trims they stick on turbo descriptions. When I need a turbo I call the guys who build our turbos (multiple shops) and ask what I need to do such and such. They give me a recommendation, we buy it and then we test it. If it works we use it, if not we buy another and report the results of the test so the next turbo can be adjusted for our use.
I don't really care what inside the turbo, I just don't care. What I care about is if I ask for a turbo that will make 20 psi on a 2 liter by 4,000 rpm that when I get it, it does in fact make 20 psi by 4,000 rpm. I also care that if I say with that spool up I need 500 whp that it will actually make 500 whp.
Case in point, this new GT35r. Robert called me, said he had a turbo he thought would work really well. Less back pressure, better low/mid range no losses up top. Asked if I would test it on my RS. He told me the specs on the wheel, I listened, did not write them down, didn't care. I care about results. The turbo came, we tested it and it performed just like he said it would. The turbo did have a surging problem, so as I said that made it not ideal. It was taken off and sent back to be modified.

I'm talking OEM 16G IX vs. the new 20G-9LT on pump. I've yet to see anything that shows the comparison between those two turbos yet. It's one thing to come from a 16G VIII and sing its praises but the new Evo IX turbos are a lot better in every way. Ask me how I know.

50 Trim is much more power then the green but I that's not the powerband everyone is looking for.
didn't curt brown ran a 10.5sec 1/4 mile and buschur racing ran 10.8 1/4 mile with 20gLT?? i haven't seem any 50TRIMS hit 10 sec... buschur racing made 450whp on their dyno so 500whp on dynojet???

Yeah pretty mcuh. However, dont quote just yet the max power the Green will produce on race gas, but Im sure 460whp will be the average. Also - I cant see a 50trim on meth pulling until maybe 115+mph.
Yeah but their times wont really match what the other 20G LT users will see. They were both fully built, high lift cams, standalone, lightened, running very high boost, etc.
You wont see many 50trims in the 10s because most people with built motors, standalone, high lift cams, and mods like that are running 35Rs or bigger. A 50trim with 500whp should be able to hit 10s with some sticky tires and a badass launch.
I argued in another thread with Buschur saying that he should test the car on a normal modified EVO (flash, cams, TBE, FMIC) and he responded saying thats nonsense and power will be the same
(Keep in mind his EVO with 20GLT made 450whp) yet all other 20G LT guys on his dyno have been putting down 410-415whp on meth. Wow, didnt see that coming
I think the 20gLT is for me... I've had a 50 trim on my old eclipse and yes it was a great turbo, I still just love the instant power of a stock like turbo.
Then again I just want around 400awhp... but I do plan on running meth so there should be room for more...
