Question which head gasket? head gasket sizing issue..

I purchased a 2.3 liter short block from RNR. I believe the bore is .020. I bought a stock head gasket kit, and tried to put it on, it seams a little small. The head gasket has a protruding slight lip over the cylinder, and we are worried that it is going to blow down the road, or at the very least, the piston will tap the gasket... Hoping for a little direction! Turbo Trix mentioned a 1.0mm HKS head gasket, looking for second opinions and choices.

You are on the right track.... Don't use the stock one! JUN also has one for 1.0mm and 0.8mm.... I just don't know who can get this from JUN machine shop in Japan... Have you try to contact WorldOne or Gruppe-S?

go for a cometic, readily available.....

It's strange that the oem gasket overhanges into the bore @ only 0.5mm overbore?

The vendor responded.... 2.3 4g63 with a .60 bore... I was told by AMS and by Buschar that the stock head gasket should pretty much fit any bore.... does this sound right? Now that I know the bore, I am not sure how to find that spec in a head gasket before ordering one?

A little off topic I know, but did they say there was a reason why they bored it .060 over?

Seems kinda fishy to me. I'm wondering if the block was used, and had to be bored that much to get a smooth wall. Wouldn't suprise me if that's the case...
