wow, i just read this whole thing and i smelled scammer right from the very beginning. it is funny how you can tell how flakey someone is right from the very first post. nothing added up in this story, from the motor blowing, to the convenient fire, to the posting on other forums about a cliff, then disappearing for 2 years, posting a pic of a car that was OBVIOUSLY involved in something more than a motor blowing and a fire.

wow, sketchy ****.

its very rare.mitsubishi would waranty a motor anyway, they arent stupid and know how these cars are driven and modded.

they dont live under a rock...
so dont think that this dude is gonna ruin it for other people.
your warranty is almost gone when you drive the car off the lot, few exceptions of course

I've had both scenarios happen to me many years ago. One was a timing belt (broke way before it's time)...driving down the road...bang/bang/jolt/jolt...dead...I wasn't going to fix the engine so there was nothing I could do but sell it to the junk yard for $500 and then I bought a new car... before that warranty expired for rust, I took that car to have a new hood put on due to rust coming through...drove it home and parked it in the garage...went to put some stuff in recycle bin and the entire engine area was on fire...OMG. It was a Ford excort GT and insurance covered the repairs. I was blaming the guys who must have got substances on the engine while painting it...then one of the repairmen whispered to me that there was a connection on this year of escort that was causing those cars engines to go on fire and they figured that this was the actual problem and not the painting I had done (I was worried about it happening again so I think the guy felt to give me reassurance that it was a 1 in a million chance it would happen again)...they said that this connection (can't remember the details as it was so long ago) was changed by Ford after that year due to this issue...why wasn't there a recall if Ford knew that, regardless if it was a one in a million shot??????? I could have been burned to death, as my garage sits below my bedroom. So cars just sitting with the ignition off can catch on fire I've learned...that car sat outside my garage for the remainder of its life!!!

Anyways, looks like your car exploded...check for bombs and enemies...you seem to have bad luck with EVO's...maybe better go for something different...lol.

warranty is void if you have any engine modification. thats how the dealer is. go on Ebay and see if you can buy an engine and swap it. i checked a few weeks ago and saw engine from evo9 for about 3 grand. good luck
