Intercooler pipes and prices

I have an 03 Evo. Not many mods, HKS Intake, Boost Controller, Clutch, and guage's. Now I'm looking to upgrade my Intercooler and upper and lower IC pipes. I like the AMS Front mount but I'm not sure what IC pipes to get. I'm suprised to see how expensive they are! Anyway, my question is, whats the best IC pipe kit for the money. So far this is the best Ive found: http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...42&cat=0&page=

Just wanna ask, if you're going to pay over 1K for the AMS IC and IC pipes. Why don't you just save up more and get the HKS Type R intercooler kit? Comes with piping and everything and some place sells them for 12-13 hundred dollars. If you decide to get AMS or Buscher IC pipes then you'll need to get a mini battery kit as well right? Well just an opinion. Do what you want, because in the end. It's YOU who's enjoying the car.

Havent heard anything bad about the injen setup. I think there is an engine bay picture thread in the show and go section. usually they will list what piping they are runnung.

HKS type-r fmic isnt that great, especially for the money. If you get an AMS intercooler, get AMS piping. If you get a Buschur intercooler get Buschur pipes. Or get a Nisei competition intercooler. Or get any of the three and have a machine shop make you some pipes.

Dont let the piping decide what intercooler you get. Just get one of the three I mentioned and get some custom pipes made if you dont want to spend as much.

But stay away from the HKS type-r, much better options available.

Oh and about cams, if your gonna get cams, just upgrade the valvetrain while your in there. It's not very expensive, and it's something your going to need to do anyway.

Look at GSC cams..

intercooler pipes

look on motiongarage.com......Nesei....best setup...but you need a small battery.

If your really gonna spend that kind of money...I agree might as well get cams instead...like 272's.

nope...don't need springs or retainers...but it'll be a little rough at idle w/o a tune.

i justgot my ams fmic and got it with the ams licp which i chose because it works with both the evo VIII and IX turbo's so when i upgrade to the 20glt i can keep the same intercooler pipe and i got the buschur upper intercooler pipe because i think it looks the best plus i got the buschur mini battery and buschur intake at the same time. i will post pics after they are installed but after seeing the intercooler i would have to say that you cant go wrong with the ams intercooler at all.

I also have the AMS LICP and am looking at purchasing the AMS FMIC. Have heard great things about their FMIC as well as Nisei and Buschur as well.

Do you have an exhaust yet, because I dont think you listed it? Get that and a tune before anything else.
