Bad ASS EVO on E85..........
You would not be able to run 70/30 E85 and then switch to 85/15 E85. I'd be afraid to tune if it was actually like that.
I am going to do some searching to see it that is true.
I was assuming this stuff today was normal E85. If this isn't and it gets even better than this stuff...............wow, it would be unbelievable.

Flexible tuning or fulltime wideband closed-loop fuel control are the two best options to compensate for changes. I don't know if there are any standalones that are capable of doing closed loop AFR targets (lambda)
I know the setup I have for my Malibu is closed loop all the time, even at WOT..
Then you have the OBD-II legality issues, along with other legal issues as its currently not legal to convert a gasoline car to Flex Fuel..
It begins to feel like they want to dangle the carrot, and then ****** it away as we get closer to accomplishing something.

First for david, question about that "flip of a switch" If you were tuning an AEM map, and your "flip of a switch" doesn't change maps, then I am curious how in the hell you could do it since the fuel curves would be completely different. (other than backing off boost of course).
For 9sec9, here in oklahoma, there were 2 pumps that were available for e85 that were just shut down. I have been running e85 mixes for a year and a half on my EVO, and the DSM guys here have been using it longer then that. It is very funny when something so good, takes SO long for people to see the potential.
Since December, those 2 pumps have been shut down and is only available to gov employee's. With this said, there is an E85 plant opening up soon here in OK, and it will be VERY available soon. (6 months at the most). Also, Wal-mart is already selling E-85 at their pumps, I have seen this during my travels. (as well as Sam's club of course).

There are actually 4 grades of E85 listed on many of the E85 FAQ sites. I think these are guidelines for the stations to follow.
It's tough to know exactly what gas is in the stations tank, how long it's been there, etc.
I'll dig up some links later, but basically the only "true" E85 that Ohio will see is during June/July/August. The other months all have varying amounts of gas/ethanol in them. PA is even worse, with the state divided up into two portions, the Northern half only getting "true" E85 for two months I believe, and the Southern half is a mirror image of what Ohio gets.
It should be just a winter and summer blend IMO, but you know damn well no one will drain their tanks just to put the summer blend in, and the pump attendants certainly won't know what is in the tank.

Guess all of those empty barrels of race gas will come in handy if I decide to swap the pump/meth over to E-85. I'll just fill up one or two of them and bring it back from whereever. MalibuJack, OT, I 'donated' to your site a week or so ago. Good work!
im surprised it hasn't hit the lower warm states yet... temp in fl doens't vary as much as up north.
granted its all made in the midwest which is why all the stations are there. but i think it would be easier for experimental reasons in fl since it never gets hotter than 100 and never colder than 45
cheers!
