Clutch install time ? which paint?

I have 2 questions, first is im having an ACT 6 pad clutch kit put in my 2k5 evo VIII ive looked but havent found anything, can anyone give me a guess on the time required to install it? 6-10 hours should be enough? (professional garage time) second question is about what kind of paint to use on an intercooler, the previous owner of the car painted an outline of his buisness name on it, and im looking to paint it silver, any advice on which kind of paint ? spray or brush ? high temp or anything special needed etc. ?

ty 4 the time, greatly appreciated

took me and my cousins 3 days.....christmas eve eve, christmas eve and christmas day.....we calculated a total of 30 hours. Yes laugh all you want but stupid things held us back....for example....make sure you have a pull hammer with a m8 bolt on it to pull the shaft out of the transfer case....also have help and extra pry bars and a scissor jack....have a tranny jack and a tranny stand and most importantly label your bolts and do not loose any.if i were to do it again i am sure we can have it completed in under 6 hours.

If you're going to apply a coating on an intercooler please use a functional thermal dissipative and not just some paint. I would use a solvent to remove the previous owner's business name before painting over it and insulating the intercooler.

Also, the small dent puller that Pepboys sells works perfectly as slide hammer with an appropriately threaded end for this job and it costs less than $10

It's the small one here if you decide to tackle the job yourself or just want to make things easier on the shop you send the car to

small dent puller for $6.50

i have a question, why do you have to pop those things out? does something not come off if you dont pop them out? i mean if you just slide the half shaft off of them, why do you have to take them off as well?

i've done a half dozen evo clutches, and it still takes 6-7 hours by myself in my garage. i have an engine lift, jackstand, jack, all the correct tools.

less then 6 hours to do the clutch is not average. that would be for professionals who regularly do evo clutches. sense the OP is asking how long it will take, i'm guessing you haven't done an evo yet. expect a MINIMUM of 10 hours for a first time. if you are just wondering what a shop should charge you in labor, 450 seems to be the right price.

cannot take the transfercase off of the transmission is my understanding. never tried not taking the outputshafts off. once you get the CV's off, its only a minute more to get the output shafts out.

painting intercooler

if your going to paint your intercooler go to www.eastwood.com and look under their specialty coatings. In ther you will find radiator paint that helps with heat discipation.
