I tightened progressively, I think I did it 5 times. I started with 45 ft lbs, loosened, 55 ft lbs, loosened, 65 ft lbs, loosened, etc up until 85 ft. lbs. The stud itself just goes into the block and shouldn't be tight at all just snug it up a little bit with the provided allen wrench.

so 1 stud at a time
start from middle to outside like the graph just starting from 10
trq 1 stud at a time. 5 times
45, 55, 65, 75 final 85 then move on to next stud.

This thread seems to be back and forth a bit on how to exactly do this. When you do the 1 by 1, you take out the stock one, than replace it with the new one. You don't take them all out at the same time. Hence 1 by 1.
The first post made it seem that you were saying to take them all out at the same time, but then later you were talking about it like you were doing the true 1 by 1. I just wanted to clear this up.

just apply a little and rub it into the threads with your finger.. put the lube on the nut side.. also you will do a little prying to get a couple out if not changing the cams at the same time.. it can be done though.. no need to replace h.g. if done the way you were told. you dont have to do it in 5 steps, just 3.. lastly some people, (Tuners go up 90 ft. lb's also sometimes, search this.) will go 90 ft. you dont need it. and most important, check there tightness at 50 miles, 300 miles, 1000 miles and if they havent moved then check again at 3000 miles.. if they loosen no worry, just tighten them. if they havent moved your done.. do not forget to recheck them at these miles.. i have had a couple come loose, after some miles.. its not hard to pull the v.c. and check, besides its small ins. and get a good torque wrench..
