mobil 1 oil for evo?

I run mobil 1 oil to all my cars: honda pilot, IS300 and Evo IXMR. Here is what I got; the pilot on the left, the IS300 on the right and the Evo in the middle. The oil of the evo looks black compared to the other two with 3K miles, pilot with 2K miles and IS with 4K miles since oil change. Anybody notice this too that our oil even with synthetics are darker. Anybody use other synthetics with better color than the M1? Thanks!

I would guess that you drive the EVO a lot harder than a pilot or an IS300. I am very **** about dirty oil in my evo as I change it every 1500 miles with royal purple and have noticed the oil much cleaner than the mobil 1 in between oil changes Try some royal purple.

i think that is due to our evo's running a pretty rich mix

Please do not buy into the color telling you what is happening with the oil . It certainly can be an indication , but getting the oil tested is the only way to know what is going on with the oil . Blackstone Laboratories or another similiar company can really tell you what exactly is happening with your oil . I send a sample every other oil change . I've had a mitsubishi built turbo car since 1986 and have always seen darker oil than my non turbo cars , it's the extra heat of the turbo imho !just my 2 cents !

I use: M1 0W/20 on the pilot up to 6K miles
M1 5W/30 on the IS300 up to 6K miles
M1 10W/30 on the Evo IX MR up to 5K miles

I immediately changed it after noticing the oil to be darker and thicker(oil breakdown?). I did not notice this with the break-in oil which I changed at 4900 miles which was not as black as this one. I am now using M1 10W/30 extended performance, it is GF-4 but has more supersyn, higher viscosity index and flashpoint, if that means anything.

I actually change my Oil today at a Mobil 1 express, I always do it around 3k and put Mobil 1 10-30 Synthetic. But since first oil change, I have notice that oil has always been black, like it has been 10k in between changes, only 1 time the guy told me that I was a bit low on oil.

i notice too. the old on normal cars like auto civic and accors are alwways clean as hell. and the old on my evo and boosted integra always gets black in like 1000 miles
1 you drive the evo hard and thus you will be burning some old. i burn about 1 half to 1 quart in 3k miles. also boosted botors get a lot of blow by past the rings which make s the old dirty

i bet the oil wont get black if you never past 3k rpm
