I dont want to buy full race headers!...
Megan manifold is garbage.. Mine cracked 2 times. I got a buschur ported one thats going on my IX tomorrow
I have a JIC header for the stock turbo.. There's a significant quality difference between this header and the less expensive ones, the thickness of the metal, quality of welds, thickness of flanges are all better on the JIC compared to most of the others I've seen.
Also there is differences in the design of the header, larger diameter pipes lower exhaust velocity, smaller raises it.. Both have a different affect on spool and high RPM power.
You do get what you pay for. FWIW I never did use the JIC header, DNP O2 housing, or upgraded turbo, I bought the parts and ultimately never used them and swapped in a GT35r instead.
Your much better off sticking with the stock manifold, or a ported/coated stock manifold, there really aren't going to be huge gains with a tubular manifold (header) that make it a worthwhile tradeoff for durability. Yes, a header may gain you a small amount, but at what cost?

It's about 75% done.

From: somewhere testing various tires, brakes, and suspensions.
It is not false, as it holds true for some header systems. Ill rephrase - the cheaper or knock off tubular headers that can be poorly crafted have and have been known to fail over time.

if the tubular header does not resemble something like this
then it will crack, fall apart, otherwise become scrap sooner or later. If you can't afford something like the above (which is full race btw) then pick up a stocker mani and have it ported/coated. Otherwise, you're just wasting time and money

i've had dinamic turbo t3 manifold, cracked, fixed it myself twice then it started cracking in every weld, then i bought sfp had it for two years then again cracks so the third's the charm, full race last week, let me say its worth every penny if you have the money you will not regret it.
Forced Performance just released their new exhaust manifold and its probably the strongest one out there, made of D5S, if you dont know what that is, well its really badarse metal. there just under 330.00

Honestly the ported and coated BR manifold is the better deal and is dyno proven to be within one or two horsepower of the best tubular manifolds. Do you have any dyno numbers on the JIC piece?
