I highly suggest that when you get the tranny back on, put two bolts in. The 14mm from the back of the block just above the t-case and a top front 14, bolt up the slave, press and realease the clutch pedal a bunch of times and make sure that clip doesn't pop off before you go nuts putting everything back together.

Were you on a lift doing your clutch job?

[edit] Are you putting in a new clutch?

Make sure the ring clip is seated in the middle of the pressure plate snug and correct. You can refer to the O.E. clutch to see what I mean if it is still there? Or you know what I mean... I had this problem on my first clutch job. Make sure the TOB clip prongs are seated correct on the ring clip as well. When you get the tranny back on put pressure on the clutch fork to seat the TOB to that friggin stupid clip

im doing it on jack stands, with a cherry picker in a garage. Is it possible that the clip is stretched out causing it to pop out way too easily?

i think the only way to hook the tranny up smoothly is to have a leveler on your cherry picker.

You can't really stretch the clip out. Just bend the little prongs out a bit, not to much and pop'er back on and hope for the best

i think i have the springs installed incorrectly...they seem to want to disengage the tob...and the gap of the ring is fairly small but i'll check if the tob actually snaps in when i pull the trans off...

--does the gap on the wedge collar ring suppose to have a small gap or none at all?
--and does the ring clip on the wedge collar attach the the little fingers with the indentations of the ring?

Do not try to see if the tob will pop in because you will risk damaging the clip trying to get it off!

There is suppose to be a tiny gap between the pressure plate and the clip, and again that ring clip is suppose to be in the center of the pressure plate fingers tightly.
