evo 9 clutch job issue,

OK what i want to know, is the evo 9 clutch set up exactly the same as an evo 8? like the throw out bearing its exactly the same and everything? i think my buddy had a problem with his throw out bearing setting itself, so i just want to know for tomorrows install. would suck to have to pull the tranny a 3rd time.

Im pretty sure the setup is the same (pressure plate, throw out bearing, flywheel, disc, etc...) but you might run into issues w/ the ACD...dont know if youll have to bleed it and/or pump it etc...

well its 3:36 AM we started at 7:00 pm, it took us this long just to get the tranny to line up and go on to the motor,

does anybody have any advice for future refrence as far as lining up the tranny with the motor

anybody have any hints or techniques they use to get it to line up and go in super easy?

i mean we got it done, but but 8 and a half hours straight just to get the tranny to go on is ridiculous, we had a cherry picker, and multiple jacks and it was ridiculous,

we finally got it by having the chain between the hangers on the head, slid that chain over the middle of the cherry picker and hooked the tranny up to the cherry picker hook and kind of picked both up at the same time, then after screwing with it for 2 hours between the two of us we got it in.

anybody have any tips for future refrence.
also is there a write up on bleeding the ACD?

i use an engine hoist with 2 ratchet straps to hold the tranny. one around the bellhousing, one around the end. then you can use the ratchets to level the tranny one way or the other and it's easy to spin the tranny on the straps too.

another question, the clip that hooks the TOB to the pressure plate kept poping off, i think we over streched it so it was poping off real easy, did anybody have issues with it?

damn right! that's what you get for helping me! seriously, without CBRD, i don't know how i would've gotten the trans on! the 6-speed is gianormous and a bit harder to maneuver in than the 5-speed.
