Timing stuff is the same, but the 7 to 9 use a bigger clutch setup. You can put the flywheel onto a 4-6 though and then use the 7 to 9 clutch and pressure plate.

Pretty sure the IX has a longer timing belt than the previous models due to MIVEC.

Examining the different clutches, the Evo 7 clutch has a different pressure plate leverage ratio than the Evo 8-10 and requires less travel to operate.

the evo 7 and 8 is same car. I doubt the clutch cover had any changes. but if they are different they certainly interchange. the 4,5,6 clutches however are 10mm smaller in diameter. so when using 8/9 clutches in early cars the bigger flywheels must be used as well.

The 7 and 8-9 stock clutches test differently and have different part numbers. That doesn't mean they don't interchange, but the results may be slightly different. I haven't compared the cars (pedal assembly, hydraulics, etc), just the clutches...

thanks everyone, appreciate all the reply.
I ask those things cause i need to replace mine and someone here is selling stuff like that and he said its the same from 4-9, now that i know only timing belt and other bearings are the same, i should look for 4-6 clutch and pressure plate.
Other thing i need to confirm regarding timing belt, does it have 153 teeth?
to save posting i will ask also here, what spark plugs are recommended for Evo 4-6?
