LaG LOL

So i got my 35R put on and tuned.... The whole lag thing that so many people love to talk about is a joke. When i drive around town normaly... doing the speed limit 35-65 the car feels the same.... When i step on it, it feels FAST. So if your a new guy and someone trys to talk you out of a 35R because of lag.. dont worry...
Beside there is medicine for lag.... its called DOWNSHIFTING... and you dont need a prescription

A GOOD TUNE HELPS WITH LAG. ...don't think you would be so peachy if you weren't tuned to help spool up.

Hows the 0-60?

Yeah i totally agree. When i got my 35r i was a little worried but the lag is not bad at all. I think the whole lag thing is over rated any way. I cant wait to build the bottom end and go bigger!

i tell people, lag is relative...

but once ur on boost u never drop out of ur powerband, unless ur an idiot..

now would i pick a 35R over a smaller turbo for a tight road course, probably not.....

i raced a 2 liter restricted 650hp 1480lbs car for 2 years.... in road racing... it was insane.... we had lag on some low speed corners, but were faster everywhere compared to the twin turbo V8s and 6-7 liter V8's.....

i personally love the 35R... but, i also love a quick spooling torque monster

I think having the IX w/ the MIVEC makes a little bit of a difference w/ the lag relating to bigger turbos...It helps spool the bigger turbos up quicker then the VIII's

Agreed, too many folks want 500hp and full boost the same as stock. My old TT 240Z didn't make full boost(28psi) until after 5000rpm. Yea it had some lag, but you would be hard pressed to outrun it on the street and that was using a powerglide tranny. The SR20DET RX7 project I worked on used the Big Kahuna Turbo (PT67) and didn't get full boost until after 5Krpm, but ran 10.4@139. I do have to admit on that setup it required a 50shot at the track so it didn't fall on its face at the starting line. I suspect a properly setup 35R on a IX would probably feel pretty damn good. Glad to hear you are happy!

its definitely not as bad as people think but for a lot of people its hard to beat the overall driveability of a properly modded stock turboed evo...

What are your Mods? Stock cams? What power did you make? Tuner?

Thanks in advance?
