This may sound strange to some people, but something appears holding this car back - and it isn't the tune.

Look at the torque curve with respect to rpm. Would anyone care to take a guess at what's needed to get another 50-60hp out of it?

Car seems to need some cams IMO. 650whp is very awesome, but I would like to see that T-4 breathe a little more.

Remember that E85 is heavily subsidized so the cost is very low right now. Hope that production will be so much cheaper that it will be competitive price-wise with Race Gas once the gov't stops paying farmers to make that stuff.
This powerband from 6-9K looks delicious! Congrats!

Our clutch started slipping on the dyno so that could be some of it.

Jasil is correct.

If one looks at the specs for those cams:

http://www.briancrower.com/makes/mit...g63_evo8.shtml

There are two things that immediately come to attention. The first is the fact that these cams only give 218/216 deg of duration at 0.050", which is not ideally suited for high rpm power. Likewise, I see "106" indicated, which probably refers to LC (for both). This would be akin to setting HKS cams at +2/+2, and would explain why the torque peak occurs at a relatively tepid 6k rpm and tapers sharply thereafter.

If you have cam gears, setting them to something like -4/-4 would be immediately helpful. If not, just know that porting the heads AND installing a different cam set will deliver at least a 10% increase in power (and that is a conservative estimate) as sure as death and taxes. If you want to know how to get 700+whp, that's the ticket.

And oh yeah, invest in a good clutch. You'll need it!

So cam gears instead of changeing the cams would help??
I could order Bushurs new set of cams ..TedB thanks for the insight this whole process is a learning experiance

IF that "106" refers to lobe centerlines, then cam gears should help immediately.

However, if you don't presently have cam gears, I would just consider saving my funds for a set of more appropriate cams AND a ported head.
