Titanium TBE

Does anyone know if there is a full Titanium TBE out there for the EVO IX MR?

Also before anyone starts bashing titanium costs or for wanting to spend more money, "just get the Buschur exhuast, light weight stanless, way cheaper, etc..."
That isn't any help to anyone on the forum. Some people will spend thousands on a radio system, some will spend it on bride seats or wheels. It shouldn't be your concern how much money one spends or what they spend it on. Appreciate people and their tastes for a project.

That being said I am contemplating the Buschur Exhaust since it is really close to titanium weights but I rather have the look of titanium.

The "look" of titanium? There is no look - it all gets dirty and grimy after a month like any exhaust.

There is no full Ti TBE, because the DP can't be Ti. The best you can do is a $800-900 Ti cat-back and $200 Ti test pipe.

You want to get a titanium turbo-back just for the look? Your not even going to see your exhaust for the most part. What are you going to do, are you going to keep on going undeneath you car just to admire the money you wasted? That's lame.

What he's trying to say is that titanium is not a good material for an exhaust system. Steel is better at retaining heat, because it is more dense. Retaining heat is the key to keeping exhaust velocities as high as possible. The higher the velocity the higher the power. If I was made of money I would buy an inconel exhaust system. It's better than steel when it comes to retaining heat. Just for your information.

The concern when using Ti as a downpipe is strength at temperature. Once you get several feet from the turbo the temperature reduces significantly. That is why you see Ti catback exhausts and also some Al catback exhaust systems.

My personal feeling is that if you design and support properly you may be able to get away with making a Ti downpipe.

Don't buy the buschur exhaust. It is well known that david buys little orphan kids, at a very good price, and grinds them up for use in his parts. j/k I have their exhaust, along with an AMS exhaust and a JDM exhaust. If you go American, buy the AMS. It looks better, sounds better, it is of better quality, and is probably lighter or = to buschurs. Ti is a wonderful metal and should be used whenever and wherever possible that you can afford.(unless you are doing it for the look, then you should stop posting immediately )

There are a couple JDM titanium downpipes but we are talking MEGA MONEY!!! just for the downpipe i think its over $1000.

Auto Boss definitely has a titanium downpipe for the Evo. They make Tis DPs for skylines and Sylvias years now...

The amount of weight reduction is totally not worth it for a titanium exhaust system compared to the money spent.
