Unhappy Turbo Spool Fluttering

Have an issue...

Under WOT I Have an issue, the turbo spooling isn't constant... sounds like a fluttering under full boost... I dont notice any boost fluctuations, just the sound seems to flutter and is starting to disturb me... Any help would be great.

Oh, it's an 05 evo 8 GSR.

Mods are: AMS Stage 1 (Ditched the AFC, gonna get it reflashed.) 3" DP, 3" TP, Megan Racing Manifold, AMS MBC.. Those are the only pertinent mods...Please Help!

do you have a BOV, it may not be installed correctly, check that.

You just have compressure surge, you'll be fine. Its the cold air causing it.
You should hear my car

Compressor surge is bad and will wear out your turbo much faster than under normal circumstances. Do you have a MBC? How is it hooked up? You say there is not fluctuation in the boost at all? So your needle on your boost guage holds solid?

Turn down your boost a little. What you're describing is definitely surge.

Compressor surge doesn't happen under WOT. Compressor surge happens when you let off the throttle and the pressure backs up.

Turbo comp. surge and bov fluttering are completely different things. Most people think they are the same when discussing there problems with it.

It happens under wot with low rpm typically. What you're describing sounds like a BOV that doesn't lift.

I noticed that on my car a while back but never thought anything of it, you notice it more on the highway with the windows down and you floor it, its too hard to notice with the windows up. I have checked all my connections and everything was tight, so i interested to know whats the problem too. Oh my car had the hks ssq on it when I bought it and its recirc'd, I never had any stalling or surging problems yet, so what can the problem be??

try getting a MR Bov and throw it in, see what happens. I dont think its comp. surge. I had a similiar prob. and it turned out to be a BOV defect........ just my .02
