you're saying you'd see more gains with the HKS over the ARC especially with the Kansai box?

aftermarket intake pipe kit such as Cusco or HKS will work well too. We will be re-testing the HKS Kansai CF box w/ HKS RS reloaded kit very shortly.

Thank you

no, i am saying HKS RS intake kit gained about 8whp alone. And w/ HKS Kansai CF box, im expecting it to gain a bit more on top of the RS reloaded kit itself since the CF box will lower the air temp, and A/F ratio should be more stable.

I didn't think you could use the RS kit with the Kansai box? I thought you could only use the other HKS kit.

Thanks for posting this data but it really doesn't show too much of a gain. All it does show is that the MAF readings are a lil more erratic as opposed to uniform like the OEM intake box. Specifically look at 3000 RPM's for the ARC box Vs. OEM, it is way lower strangely but I may attest that too WHEN you hit the throttle so then look at 5000 Rpm's; it is lower for the ARC box and then box max air flow rates are the same as the OEM air box. I will say that I am surprised that the intake temps are lower and it just proves my theory that the air is getting into that engine compartment and not heating up as much as we think it is. But then again, we have no idea if the TEMP changed bewteen runs r when the runs were recorded.

Please do a test on the HKS unit, with the hard piping and without if possible.

yeah i noticed the airflow numbers also. It is important to note that the temperatures went down as rpms went up using the arc intake rather then go up when using the stock intake.

Face it all the stock components, regardless of the vehicle, will be less effective due to cost restraints then after market parts. That's why aftermarket tuning is an over $1B industry. laters pk

I find this very interesting and I must say that I am some what skepitcal about the data on the oem box vs. the ARC box. You could have made more HP just by the outside climate being different than the first time you dyno'd the car. I also question the temperature of the ARC box vs. the OEM. Aluminum will conduct more heat when compared to the plastic of the stock airbox. Either way it looks like there is a nice gain there. I just wonder how it will perform on the road and in traffic conditions.

Do you gain more hp with ARC, or with the hks suction system?

It might be expensive but look at the cooling difference ( : it seems like the one to get! I would rather pay money for gains than spend less on worse quality! Good thread bro!
