Question twin exhaust?!?!?

Has anyone thought about the feasibility of obtaining dual exhuast?!?! ...It should perhaps improve performance and atleast look good. For that matter anyone thought about getting a larger fuel tank?lol

Someone will eventually try it.. However don't expect a performance gain.. Form follows function with alot of these mods... a 3" pipe all the way back is more than enough for most 4cyl motors.. Just remember, many V8 guys (myself being one of them) run 3" dual exhaust all the way back, however each 3" pipe represents a bank of 4 cyls.. You do need a little backpressure in the exhaust system (not much because its a turbo car)

For a 4cyl car dual exaust is a absolute waste. In fact the extra weight will hamper your performance.

If you're doing it for looks, you could get a dual-outlet muffler like a lot of cars have now. It would be simpler, cheaper, and lighter than trying to do a dual exhaust from the downpipe or cat to the back. A true dual exhaust would be unnecessary and impossible on this turbo inline 4.

Any time I see a dual exhaust setup on a car I know to be 4cyl I think to myself "CHEESE!". It's alot of trouble to go through for something that will ultimately be nonfunctional and heavy.

The ideal exhaust for a turbocharged engine is ZERO backpressure, it reduces turbo response. Yes, in normally-apirated engines, some backpressure is good. Catalytic converters, small diameters, unnecessarry bends, resonators, and mufflers all suck power from a turbo. But, dual exhaust is probably overkill.

no back pressure needed at all with turbo aplications ,because the more flow the better the fan will spin.
