VIII and IX mufflers the same?

Sorry to ask another dumb question, but I'm trying an experiment on the dyno in a couple of weeks and trying to get all my ducks in a row. Is there any difference between the stock VIII and IX muffler? Both have the flapper, correct?

TIA

Three 14mm bolts, two 12mmbolts and one more short 12mm bolt and you can find out yourself in 10 minutes to tell us.

If that flapper is in there - rip it out. Nothing but trouble

Want to know something some people don't want you to know? If you remove or open that flapper, purchace a 2.75" DP and cat delete, then bevel the flange to transition from 2.75" down to stock catback size, you will have a stealth exhaust system with no restriction of flow at all up to 370whp. It will also have a very uncharacteristic scream at WOT, especially with lean racegas tunes. I will soon have dyno #s to confirm
