Crank walk was a problem in 7 bolts not 6 bolts. As far as i know, ive never heard of a evo 7 bolt having crank walk

reason being the 2g 4g63`s had a push type clutch therefore heavy duty clutches were pushing on the crank wearing out the thrust bearings evos have a pull type clutch

think it solved the problem

by the way my car has the same 4k vibrating issue right now it happen after the cams were installed i had it up on a lift @ 4k the driveshaft vibrates badly i am 100% positive that my balance shafts are out of sync not the first or last with this problem when i fix it ill repost & share the details

It's only the eclipse 7 bolts that had the problem like you said, don't know how or why but if I remember correctly all the motors made at the DSM plant now MMNA were susceptible. Which is why people do the 6 bolt swap or the JDM swap which is a 7 bolt.
