Is there any benefit to porting the throttle body on stock turbo evo VIII OR IX? I thought 65mm Throttle body wouldnt net any gains on a stock turbo evo VIII or IX.

When combined with a ported intake manifold, a ported stock TB has shown 5-10whp gains over unported stuff. Of course, it was David Buschur that did this testing and started this whole trend

We have a guy doing one on a IX right now and his car is stock. I can let you know the results.

Although I will put it into perspective for you. Stock is 59.4mm or somewhere around 2.3". 65mm is 2.5" which matches the Upper IC pipe. There are flow gains and also drivability gains to be had with a 65mm ported stock TB. Even on a stock car I feel this gain would be fun to drive, plus the dealer would never know!

i got an average 5 whp & a max of 8.3 whp when doing teh 65mm upgrade with a ported inlet manifold entrance.

I beleive it is the only throttle body dyno compare posted on evom. I know people have talked about numbers, but i have never seen a direct dyno compare, same day, same car, ~15 minutes apart.
