Was it harder that the front
I found a thread on here somewhere that saved the day, since I do not have a press, the process was to get the things out of the car and set them on a small "frame" of 2x4's on the floor, then proceed to beat the sh%t out of the inside and get it to push through and out. I found this much much harder to do on the side mounts than the front.

Of course you could do the smart thing and have the old ones pressed out. In that case, the only one that is a real pain is the rear mount, so I've heard... gonna do that with a clutch install.

The only thing tricky on the sides is getting the motor at the right height with the floor jack to get the mounts in/out.

just put the sides in. WAY TOO MUCH VIBRATION AND DRONE. Taking the cam side off and replacing with OEM rubber mounts. had to reorder them since i torched them. sigh.

I made my own motor mounts, and started with just the front mount. Vibration was not bad at all. I then made the side mounts, and wow, it about shook my teeth out of my head. Now I removed my balance shaft belt but still have them in the car so the one hooked to the oil pump still spins.

So for where they saw the improvement, it might have been on cars where the balance shafts were in proper working order.

On my car I got so tired of the vibration I went back to stock OEM side mounts, and kept the front solid mount.

Hope that helps.

Apparently contradictory reports with 3 mounts re: NVH.

Maybe this depends on the specific motor mount used.

So those of you that report decreased NVH with 3 mounts which ones do you use? What hardness?

And those of you that report increased NVH with 3 mounts which ones do you use?

Or do some of you have built and balanced short block assemblies, clutches and flywheels, which in my experience makes hard mounts very livable?

contemplating on installing the two side ones too (already have front MM), but seems people are indifferent about if they make it better or worse for DD

I read this thread back in 2007 and after installing the front Powerflex mount I went ahead and put the sides in. At first it seemed like it decreased the NVH like some said, but after a while it appeared to rattle the cabin even more than with just the front in. When I had the 2.4 installed I went back to OEM rubber side mounts but kept the front Powerflex mount. I think I like this best but do miss the engine staying in one place when going on/off throttle.

Front mount: torque solution SOLID.
Cam/Trans mount: torque solution POLYURETHANE.

I first installed the front SOLID torque solution motor mount. This reduced engine roll a lot with a decent amt of vibration. Way better now that it is settled in. 500miles broken in.

THEN...

I installed torque solution POLYURETHANE cam & trans side motor mount INSERTS. Only on the car for 20miles.

I heard that installing side mounts are suppose to reduce the vibration of the car (only if they are all solids? or only if they are all polyurethane?)

I am getting HORRIBLE vibrations now to a point where i can't even stand it.
Did i mismatch the mounts incorrectly? (solid & polyurethane).

help please.

the mount polyurethane inserts for cam/ trans have only been in for 20 miles. how many miles should i wait to see if they settle down at all?

should i just replace the cam ones to stock and see how that helps? and leave the trans one alone with the polyurethane?

HELP!!!!!!!!!

can you report back after you've done more driving and worn the side ones in more. i think when i did my front one i noticed it wore in after maybe 500km.. and you said the front one was 500miles for you, maybe the side ones are roughly that amount too ?

They eventually break in. My vibrations were horrible at first with my torque solutions motor mounts (all 4 mounts) But now 5k miles later its stiffer than stock, but way less vibrations.

It also depends on Cams and your idle. I have my idle set at 900, but if you have cams and loping at 700 rpms then you will have crazy idle steering wheel jump.
