Has anyone played around with the adjustable wing yet? The manual is a bit cryptic on the topic, but there are three settings, and from what I can gather, the stock setting is the one that yields the least downforce. Under what conditions, if any, should this be changed? My guess is that for an autoX, greater downforce at the rear might help, but it's hard to imagine the sorts of speeds produced there are enough to make much of a difference there anyway. But I am a newbie. Can someone enlighten me?

 

if you read the manual closely it talks about a pop out cover that is there in order to access the bolts for the wing. the us 8 thats out now doesnt have these...so its not adjustable. i think this is an option in japan and maybe it was accidentally included in the us manual???

I believe the manual is referring to the Evo VII wing. We have found that the VIII wing is not adjustable. At least a far as I know.

Service manual contains no adjustment information for the spoiler. Owners manual, as already reported, is erroneously describing EVO VII adjustable spoiler.

UK EVO VIII, like US Lancer Evolution, show no adjustment access panels like those from the EVO VII either. So at least we are not the only ones not getting this feature.

 

Yep.. There are several references in our Owners manual to items unique to the Evo VII, and not on the 8.. Several drawings too.. Save your owners manual.. You may find they have reprinted them for future Evo owners... And the spoiler is absolutely not adjustable.. The manuals were printed prior to the final decision on which wing to use..

here is a photo of an Evo 7, notice the inner stands of the wing... has indentation of how much the wing can be adjusted.

Also, side panel shows a pop out panel where adjusters can be found...

just thought i would show you guys... I think they were afraid people would leave them loose to fly off and kill people...

Jspec is adjustable...USDM is not.

 

Where did you get this information from. Please provide documentation.

Jspec that is being marketed by Evolution Imports does not have adjustable wing, neither does the UK version.

Checked Japan site and found the same thing...no adjustable wing!
