Im sure most, if not all those results came from the alky, not the cams, Again not a good comparison.
Why does nobody have a straight before and after Cosi cam install, without leaks or the addition of other mods...
dude how much clear do you want it!! i already had meth and boostin at 28 psi before cams and made 358whp and 400 torque WITHOUT CAMS

bro don't sweat...

the FACTS ARE HERE... even if some people don't want to see them...

what i have to say for the cossie cams is that they are a great mod and investement because as you increase your mods and power the cams help to make even more power...

Until now the gains shown are 13-15 on a stage 1 Evo IX up to almost 50whp on aftermarket turbo'ed IXs...

True, JUN 272's would make power on a stock turbo as well..

I've seen charts of Cosi's making some additional peak power, but loosing some midrange. They may work, but anyone considering the Cosi's should be comparing them with the S2's.

where did you see cosies loosing midrange? I made considerable mid / high range power with them. it feelt like I lost some until 2500rpm, but can not confirm that as I never dynoed 1000-2500 rpm range

Alright well I found what I was thinking of, turns out the tune was way off and was the main reason for the loss midrange power.

I also read your thread giving your impressions of your Cosworth cams, you said you noticed an increase at 5k+, not what I would consider low/midrange power.

Either way, that's not my point, they may make decent midrange power. My point was that S1's weren't made to be comparable with the Cosi's. The S2's are what should be considered if your looking into Cosi's.

The S2's are probly more aggressive than Cosi's, but Cosi's are definatly closer to S2's than S1's.

when I dynoed the cosies, we started the run at 4k rpm. so I know for a fact that from 4k-8krpm, the cams made more power in my car. I never tested 1-4k rpm range, but from my butt it feels like the cammed car makes less power at lower rpms (most noticable right at idle in first gear starts) catching up with the stock cams as the turbo starts getting on boost at around 2.5-3krpm.

The Cosworth Intake duration @ .050 is 255* and the exhaust is 223*. I honestly think the Cosworth is probably more like an S2.5 if there were to be such a thing. But I havent seen any numbers from GSC other than advertised so I cant say thats the case 100%.

tonight at 1320 performance in Linden, NJ...my friend's evo ix put down 347 whp and 367 wtq (Ivey tuned)

his mods are

buschur tbe w/hi flow cat
mbc @23 psi
k&n drop in
cosworth cams
walbro fuel pump

to answer the post below mine...

no unless you plan on running higher boost (meth/bigger turbo/race gas) the stock springs and retainers do the job no reason to change them

1320 has a dynojet

So the cams make power if you have meth or race gas but how about if you have pump?
