I can tell you of two cars that gained 20bhp or more from the cams. One is a friends car that had basically the equivalent of Bushur stage 4 (plus 680cc injectors, ss O2, HKS manifold) that gained 20bhp. My car gained even more (39bhp), but the extra HP probably has to do with the higher boost used in the second tune.

Hopefully by end month i will finish all the bolt-ons on my car and retune. The cossie cams are definitely a great addition.

I am aiming over 350whp at 23psi and pump gas. i would say probably around 355 as i already saw 344 with knock and pulled timing and without my new metallic cat i/c piping kit...

At this power level i believe at least 15whp comes from the Cossie cams...

347WHP with an Evo IX and Cams? Haven't people made over 347WHP without cams? That torque of 360++++ was very good but it could also be a spike as well.

Well typically with a cat converter and stock airbox no, this is actually higher than typical at that boost.
But more data is needed.

Oh great, with a cat then it is quite amazing as you are giving up an easy 15WHP with a cat. how much power do you see added with an open air filter?

The cat is trully a power killer, especially at this mod level.

I have the UR unit, which is a ceramic one and from what i know and told by Big Al and my shop, it "steals" at least 8-10whp. And of course, the higher boost you use the higher the restriction becomes...

Personally i will remove this ceramic unit and i will install the Randomtech one, which is a metallic catalytic converter with a flow of over 500cfm...

Even the best cats steel over 10WHP and aid in detonation. It's like trying to add high performance Drum Breaks to your ride.

I know that i will not gain the max performance like a test pipe would give, but because i drive the car every day, i don't want to have it catless...

if lets say i lose 15whp with the UR cat, and by using the randomtech unit i gain 8 of them, that very acceptable and i don't mind.

If i remember correctly the stock cat flows around 350cfm, the bigger diameter close to 400cfm and the Randomtech is rated well over 500cfm...

LOL...

controversy...i luuuv it...

Mate, personally i cannot stand the arguements like

...ohhh your cams don't make power...
...ohhh the dyno you go to is cheating...
...ohhh you didn't get 40whp from the cams on a stock turbo...
...ohhh there is no way you can make so much power on pump...
...ohhh my tummy hurts...

and all this crap...

Simply, posting our findings and sharing our results or failures or successes with the community makes the community better. Its not like i am a vendor or a shop owner and i am trying to become known or sell my products...

HOWEVER, having people saying crap, especially without having seen anything by themselves, but they heard from a friend...it becomes rediculus to say at least...

The next thing we are going to hear its ..."ohh, i don't believe your timeslip, video, photos..., i wasn't in the car with you to see..."

I just find it odd, that most vendors seem to sell out all there stock on the Cosi cams, yet there is barely any evidence these cams work.
This is how I see it:
If I installed these cams and felt or dyned the car to some sort of positive feedback, I would post up the good news.
But if I installed these cams and felt nothing, well than I would probably keep quiet about it or complain.
So being there isnt much feedback(maybe 3-4 on this entire thread), well you get my point.
I guess maybe Ill have to spend the $1000+ to find out for myself...

i find it odd that people still expect 40 hp out of cams on a stock turbo 9. there's no such thing as a free ride and the 9 didn't get that 30hp increase over stock 8s from nowhere. 15hp from cams on a 9 should not only be impressive but it should be appreciated...

^^ its cuz you have a lot of vendors saying this and that about how the evo8 made 40whp on cams alone and the 9's are only making 15-20

NO it's because people on the other end of the line are NOT QUESTIONING WHY and learning a thing or two

Bro, many people are very selective on what they read...

What has been said many times that the IX is much harder to get power after a certain point of mods, makes the average 15whp of the cossie cams impressive.

I ve said it MANY times, my tuner said it, other people say it, but still you will have guys to argue and say ohhh you didn't get 30whp increase so the cams are not good...

Or even i could easily present my before tune and cam dyno which was 299whp and then my tune and cam which was 337 and tell... Ohhh i gained 38whp from the cams...

Personally we installed the cams on an already custom tuned car, maxxed out for that level of mods AND THEN installed cams and fine tuned to get 13whp more...

It all depends from what side you want to view things...

Personally i rest my case with all this cossie cam drama, as since then i moved further and further and further...

Kouzman, I agree that this is the best way to show cam results. I have noticed that people are putting cams onto a car that has not been previously custom tuned, then saying (after cams and custom tune) - "ooh, look how much the cams made..."
