Questions concerning new o2 housing with downpipe/cat delete installed?

I just installed a new stainless ported aftermarket o2 housing and installed the dc sports downpipe with cat delete.. I also have a catback hks exhaust.. I am just wondering if that new o2 housing should make the car really loud? My car went from sounding deep.. to almost sounding like a race car? If I accelerate it feels really good and free flowing, but as soon as i just tap on the gas it sounds like a lawn mower lol. I installed a new donut gasket with it and checked for leaks, but there are none. I do have my o2 sensor plugged in my new dump for right now until I get the old one out with a different tool.

I just really want to know is how much louder is the car supposed to be with the new o2 housing. I don't think it should be this loud.

Let me know.

Thank you in advance to your comments and suggestions.

most of it is probably because of your cat delete. test pipes will raise db levels.

+2, the 02 should not dramatically increase your exhaust noise as you're describing. The culprit is most likely the DC downpipe which eliminated the cat which helps to muffle the exhaust.

+3 for the cat delete, o2 has nothing to do with it.

Yup, removing the cat will make the exhaust louder.

Fitting a cat delete pipe will definately make the car louder as there is a lot less restriction...

just how loud...? Like a honda? my buddy has an evo also and put a bw turbo on it and it now sounds like a honda a low Rpm until after 3K then the note changes. Mine sounds great with no resonator.

^^^No problems here they are still too busy trying to figure out what they are instead of listening to the exhaust!

usually a non resonated test pipe makes the car raspy, loud and sound cheap. sell it and get a resonated test pipe. it will make all the difference in the world. or some how do it to the one u have. my car sounds deep and powerful. i have the works o2 housing, down pipe with cat delete(resonated) and their cat back exhaust. i love it.

one other thing. i had a bolt fall out of the o2 housing one time and just that made my car sound like a tin can. so check all the bolts on the o2 for the proper torque. i think its like 36ftlbs or something.

when u put the o2 housing on did u take the whole turbo off? if not then id say u have a good chance of a leak between the o2 housing and the turbo. the whole turbo must be taken off to install a o2 housing. u cant possibly torque the bolts right without doing that. good luck.
