if you're using a tactrix cable to upload the map yourself that you recieve by email, then that's the M1. the M2 is a mail-in service.

My first ever mail in flash was through Al and honestly it was the worst thing i ever did especially i think it was $200? I wonder if he even put a map in it .....Jester's mail ins are amazing, after my dynoflash didnt do anything i did jester instead with the same mods and could definately feel the difference not a doubt......THO Al did tune my car on the dyno and he did an awesome job and is a great guy, he definatley knows his stuff from talking to him and meeting him and i'll refer ppl to him, his mail in did suck no offense haha

so is the M2. no offense, but please don't misinform him. the M1 is on email based, tactrix cable loaded flash and the M2 requires taking the ECU out, mailing it in, and reinstalling it when it gets back. they really provide the same service, just different means of getting it done.

the M1 and M2 are the same thing, its just based on whether its through email or the mail, sending him your ecu.
hes not even gonna ask you wat you want, just get a list of mods and send them to him and tell him u need a flash for $52 via email

did the mail-in flash with Al last year and it was ok. i tried to reach him on the phone a few times with question becuase he didn't answer any of my emails and felt that he was a bit rude. i'm definetly going with Jester for my next tune. as a matter of fact, i just purchase a cable just for that purpose. i could have gotten a retune from Al for $100 but i rather spend $152 on someone else.

I would agree that calling him directly is slightly hard to talk to him, but he has always returned my calls. He even called me to as specific questions about my mods and where I was planing to go with them (future planed mods) and was quite easy to deal with. He recommended somethings and explained to me the reasoning in doing so. So far he has been wonderful. I will find out this weekend on the tune.

i have evoscan and my tatrix is on the way. So all I have to do is flash my ecu with the m1 map and then log with wideband?

Also I plan on licp, mbc, and maybe an intercooler. I am gonna wait for the m1 but what is a good wideband o2. I have looked around at a couple but want to know what others are running for a reference.

For the ppl that have a flash, does your car now run smoother than stock?
for a basically, stock car, I think my car doesn't run that smooth, specially when lifting off the throttle.

.
look in the ecuflash forum. you need to download ecuflash(it's free)at www.openecu.org and get some logging software so you can log rpm, timing, knock, TPS, basically anything. you can get mitsulogger free or purchase evoscan for i think $30. all of this is discussed in the ecuflash forum, check it out. search that forum for "tutorial ecuflash" for a how-to for beginners.

I also liked the flexibility of being able to switch maps anytime I want, and actually having a few different maps!! Now I a guess I need to rethink my plans!
It is untrue that your ecu can not be flashed by someone else after I flash it - simplity lies and propoganda

I use the same equipment as every one else - ecuflash

Thanks

I too have heard this. So to clarify is it that it can't be edited / read by someone else then?
