i would buy a aftermarket, as the effort towards getting the i.d of the oem o2 housing as large & concentric as a megan o2 housin just isnt worth the time.

you can buy used o2 hosuings for ~60 or new for ~110. It's just not worth the effort IMO.

Besides, i am a cheap bastard too & I would buy 1 instead grinding & machining a oem housing.

I would now be weary of the 02 housings sold on ebay now. It seems the quality has dropped on them.

Does any have the I.D. measurement of the stock O2 housing outlet? Anyone know how much wall material can safely be removed?

I'll measure our original stock ported O2 housing. I think this is a pic of it after I matched it to the turbine housing.

Sorry, I looked at the O2 housing that's here and it's bascially just a clean up job on it. Not truly ported.

I checked our 'cleaned up stocker' and it measures 2.513 on the dial caliper.

Thank you. Do you have any feel for how much wall thickness can be removed in the last few inches?

What grinding tool did you use? I'm thinking of picking up a Rotozip for the job.

I've always used an air dremel type of tool with carbide sanding rolls for cast iron and steel.

rotozip will get worked to death. I use carbide cutters and a makita 6.5 die grinder. It turns 20,000 rpms I believe and the carbide makes short work of just about anything. Are you talking about the first 2 inches at the turbin end, or the dp end? I'll look close and measure.

I use the same type barrel rolls for the sanding step. Final step is up to you and the finish you want. 120 is about as fine as I go.

Thinking the most value is at the DP end. I would imagine the turbine side is already pretty closely matched to the turbine outlet, and plus, I'm was thinking that I would port the housing without removing it, so no chance to hack away on the turbine side.
