Exclamation boosting problem

hi im new to this forum i just got a 03 evo 8 the only mod that the car has is a boost gauge which really isint a mod and a stage 2 clutch and lightend flywheel when i make boost it only hits 13 psi it was like that when i got it i was told the evo stock should be hitting 19 to 20 psi and dropping down to around 16-17 psi i thought the gauge was bad so hooked up a new gauge and made sure it was on the right vacume line and still the same reading ???? help....

2 things I would check.

Make sure that the stock boost selinoid lines are hooked up correctly with stock boost lines.

Make sure that the 2 clips that hold the snorkle down on the stock intake are not broken. If they are, get 2 out of the trunk and replace and then boost to 20psi.

Periods, capitals... hell just punctuation is your friend. Write that in legible english and someone will probably get back to you.

Check your hoses for a leak. That means all of them, not just the vacuum line.

It's pretty simple, so my guess is you didn't bother to search.

Your car was previously modded, but the previous owner attempted to put it back to stock and did not put the boost system back together properly. You probably have generic vaccuum hoses connecting from your BCS to the turbo and wastegate actuator. This is causing you to run base wastegate pressure, which is really 11psi. If you see 13psi, then y our gauge probably just reads a little high.

You need to either get the stock boost hoses from Mitsubishiparts.net, or install an aftermarket boost controller.

Im not sure what they meant by "resistors" but it sounds like they are talking about the little boost line pill that run from your wastegate or licp to your BCS (cant remember)...just do what Warr said and order the parts from mitsubishi.net and install them yourself, its simple and easy. Or try posting a "Wanting to Buy" thread in the Wanting to buy section for the stock boost lines and pill...

or get a manual boost controller and fix the problem while also being able to adjust your own boost

They either meant to say "restrictor pills" or you just didn't understand them. The stock boost hoses have restrictor pills that regulate boost. Without them, you get base wastegate pressure like I already told you.

Sounds like the Mitsu guys were right, so go get the stock boost hoses. They cost $15 from the site I listed, or get an MBC.
