EVO 8 Cam Gear Fittment Applications

I've been currently searching for some affordable cam gears for my 8 and when I come across many advertisements online they also show to fit the 1990-1999 Elcipse GST, GSX Turbo, 1990-1994 Plymouth Laser 2.0L DOHC, and the 1990-1994 Eagle Talon 2.0L DOHC. But I never see it vice versca, so my question is will cam gears made for the above applications also fit on the 2003-2005 EVO 8??

Personally I would just go with the AEM or Helix gears. Stay away from the HKS gears.

Never heard anything bad about HKS' gears.

Yes, they'll fit but the timing marks are different depending on whether the gears are being installed on a DSM or Evo.

so what your saying is that by installing them on an Evo you wouldn't be able to adjust timing accurately by their marks (and are pretty much useless)?

I seem to recall some having trouble with gear sets that have only three anchor points (e.g. HKS). You may want to research this.

No, they will work fine on either application it's just that there are different timing marks depending on whether you are using them on a DSM or Evo.

I think the timing marks are the same but they have a different dowl hole to position the cam.

...so if the dowel hole is different on a DSM wouldn't it misposition the cams on a EVO?
