I have Fidanza (SP) cam gears and used the DSM holes . TDC marks lined up better for me vs the EVO holes . They worked out great and each line on my cam gears =1* of timing .
Seach my name "MATT55" and for cam gears and you find a thread that TTP posted up about cam gears witch he talked about DSM VS EVO holes , F-it iam looking it up....https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...light=cam+gear

Thanks for the info, I'm lookikng at a set of DSM gears on Ebay, not sure if they have multiple dowel holes or not but they look really nice and are priced low. I'd like to know what you all thought about them. Possibly a good deal, or cheap crap that may cause problems?....here's the site: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mitsu...01223908QQrdZ1

I'm a huge advocate of Ebay products (exhaust components, intercoolers, etc.) however, cam gears are something you DO NOT WANT to get from Ebay. If the cam gears fail or break for any reason, your engine is TOAST. Stay away from the HKS cam gears, there have been multiple reports of them slipping (due to only have 3 bolting points) and destroying engines.

...oh wow, thanks for the info so far i've heard bad things about the HKS gears slipping and also some Fidanza gears timing marks being off....ironic how these are the 2 brands that are most often for sale, I now know to stay away from those two brands

Best advise I can give you is spend your money on something else and leave the stock cam gears on the car.
