Need Help With New Car

Hey Guys

Well i just picked up my new car yesterday. An 05 Evo 8 and let me tell you I LOVE IT...lol...Well I am having some problems. The dealer keeps telling me that the car is stock but it has a rough idel. The steering wheel shackes to from the idel...I look under the hood and it is stock I even opened up the air box and it was stock..So idk if the guy would actually put a cam in a completely stock car.. If there is something else it could be, PLEASE HELP

sounds like 280's... pop your valve cover off... or have the dealership do it, since you just bought it, and have them look.

did it sound like that when you bought it?? or is this a sound that has developed

i bet whoever ssold it back to the dealer took off all visible mods and left ithe cams in it, then sold it back as "stock". sounds like untuned 280s. id get it checked out asap.

my steering wheels shakes a bit at idle, but its from stiffer motor mounts. did you notice if those looked different?

I cannot believe a dealer would sell a car that sounded like that and claim it's stock. On second thought I can believe it. I've never heard what untuned cams sound like but that's where I'd lean. I've heard tuned 280s before and they didn't sound that rough.

The word is "idle."

That car is not stock, and this is why it's a bad idea to buy a used Evo, especially from a dealership, because they don't know jack about mods. They just buy it from the guy who was trying to get rid of it for cheap, then they sell it at a premium to the noob who doesn't know any better.

How can you say the exhaust sounds stock when you recorded that video? The stock exhaust sounds NOTHING like that.
