Anyone ran a Green on an IX?

The IX is really balanced from the factory, but I would like to hear if anyone has swapped to a green and what kind of results they got. Since the IX turbo is pretty good to start with, I would expect some really mild gains, like 20-25whp on pump fuel.

I'm talking about a really lightly modded car, like a full exhaust, tune + injectors and turbo. I know cams will help the turbo a lot, but just curious to hear any results with the snail only on a IX.

Thanks!

Well i have the 20G-LT currently on my car, but its untuned. I could still say that i definately felt a difference in my mid to top end power. I could say at least 30 hp increase over the stock IX turbo. And then a week later i installed the IX Cosworth camshafts and man this just wakes up the turbos potential. Unfortunately i won't be able to really see what this is capable of since i couldn't pass up a deal on a buschur gt35r kit. So in the near future i will be offering up my current 20g-lt kit with extras.

I've got the Green on my IX with Cossies now and have been very pleased so far. The car is already faster than my VIII (350/330 on Cali 91) with less mods. I'll get some dyno numbers up once the tune is locked down a little tighter.

And this was on a mustang dyno from what I remember. That's a good increase.

mine is untuned as yet but, the main reason i went with this turbo is because you can run it 28-32psi and still have the stock like spool. using a stocker with this much boost is gonna really drive up you egt's because of the stock turbine wheel being more restrictive. add to this the greens abillity to flow more air on the compressor side, 49lbs i belive. this turbo will really prove itself with some high boost levels. This is my understanding of this turbo so please don't think i am trying to preach. just my 2 cents.

it is JUST behind the stocker on spool up, but since its moving more air, and seems to be free-er flowing, you get more power just as early as the stocker!

two thumbs up for the green!

can you expand on just behind? I am more interested in spool differences in the first three gears.

I dont think there will be trouble with spoolup in higher gears as boost comes on earlier

you wont really notice a difference by feel, it was about 1000rpm later to peak boost, but even when it was at 19psi (and stocker was at 23) it was making more torque and hp already.

the torque curve improved throughout!

This is only true if you go with the upgraded 18psi actuator. The boost "hump" that results gives you that extra bit of torque 1000rpm after you would normally see it. For instance, you could boost 20psi by 3700rpm and then it will rise to 23psi by 5500rpm and then fall back down to around 20 by redline. While the curve is a bit harder to tune than a "normal" curve, some prefer it because of the increased headroom in terms of peak boost.

If you go with the stock IX WGA, you'll only see a 200rpm lag increase to reach peak boost over a IX turbo. I've logged this data on a MAP sensor and posted about it when I had my VIII sporting the aforementioned turbos.
