The path to BR BB 50Trim
Current mods are in my sig... I'm keeping the car as is for the rest of '07, but when '08 comes around I'm sure I'll want to play again.
I was thinking first:
Buschur Racing Mini Battery Kit
Buschur Racing Deluxe Front Mount Intercooler w/ Lower Pipe
Buschur Racing Upper Intercooler Pipe w/ Flange
Tial 50mm Stainless Blow Off Valve
Buschur Racing Mass Air Pipe w/ Filter
And then when I'm happy with that, move on to:
Buschur Racing GT Series 50 Trim (Ball Bearing) Turbo Kit
Helix 720cc Injectors
Custom Dynoflash Tune
My goal for the car is a strong, daily driven 2.0L on pump gas without meth/alky. I'll drag it once or twice at each stage just for the slip, but I have no intention of beating the hell out of the car. It's my daily driver right now, and after a 50Trim, I'd retire it to weekend warrior with lots of AutoX, RallyX, etc.
But anyways, my questions to you are... is any other prep required before making the move to 50Trim? I was under the impression that cams on a IX make less than 20whp... do I need head studs before going big turbo? Do these 50Trims run ok at 21-23psi?
Thanks!

450 on a 20g-lt? on straight pump? I would and did go with a 50 trim. More room for a bit more hp. 20 g-lt on meth could produce those numbers on a 9 but just pump i though it runs short. Correct me if im wrong

you can easily make over 400 on pump with a 50 trim. While i've seen as high as 450, it's very rare and i doubt you'll make that power without meth/racegas........
settle with 415whp on pump. thats very doable......

Anyways.. The cams should be considered not because the HP it adds...but how it helps out the other mods you have. Upgraded cams have a longer duration then stockers, so it will actually help the 50trim make power across the powerband..not just peak.
Stock Head studs i have heard can take alot of abuse..its a matter of what power levels do you feel the head studs can survive. Of course also..being safe is always a good route too. IMO anything past 400 HP is a good time to change them...but thats being safe...people have pushed them past that with long term success. look up more on that if you like.
and yes you can run the BB 50 trim at 21-23psi all day long with a good tune of course..
