GT3076R so laggy ??

i have the RNR GT3076R turbo with the surge cover. it's so laggy. my evo always run strong with the evo 9 turbo on my 04 evo. it made 365whp on 91 octane and 385whp on 100 with 26psi. i have every mods you can possibly do the the car.
the turbo start to spool at liek 4000rpm and full spool at 5500rpm.
HKS 272/272 CAMS
magnus intake manifold
denso 720cc
walbro FP
MBC
3" DP
3" Text pipe
3" Exhaust
Greddy IC
IC pipings
i have more mods. but can't think of it right now.

I had a RnR GT3076 kit and I hated the turbo. I traded it in for a 35R and am MUCH happier. More power, better spool.

Put on your old turbo, increase compression to 9.5:1, set boost to 20 psi, get a tune and have fun

You know this is a very good post. Everyone is always on the extreme. "Well, if you want to race your not going to do it at 3K rpms, duh!" and "Speed is only a downshift away!!" and for some this is true

Think of how often you drive part throttle or just ease into the gas in 5th and accelerate easily. It's not always about full throttle and racing someone and the great torque and throttle response of the stocker is one of the cars great attributes that is immediately missed when upgrading.

Bernardo, gave a great review of a 3065 and don't try to accelerate in 5th until 90mph.

I for one am all for big turbos and don't mind the lag most of the time, but good post to the OP and bigger isn't always better for everyone.

Not to be a ***** w/ ears. but what the h$ll has that got to do with anything?
The turbo is from Precision and we're talking about spool. They didn't make the turbo. Talk with many tuners around the country and all will tell you that the 3076 is not that great.

charlie- do you know what wastegate springs you have in place?

what gear are you in when it requires 5,500 to get full boost?

I think you want the large diameter blue spring to start with.

heres a link: http://www.tialsport.com/documents/w3_tial_40_sp.pdf

did you sell your weapon r intake? if not, i want it.

i find it funny how several posters only offer to kick you while your down instead of helping you out......

I remember Drifto posting dyno results of his 8 with a GT3076R and it made full boost (23psi) by 3800rpm in 4th gear. I think even after he optimized the cam gears it made full boost only a few hundred rpm later.
