Also from what I understand (if someone who knows more can chime in please do) it is one of the few oils that I found that still has some lubricating compounds (can't remember what off the top of my head) that many others have eliminated for emmisions reasons. Which I believe have to do with increasing the longevity of the catalyst.
Keeping this stuff makes amsoil lubricate and protect better, especially under higher loads, that other oils.

If someone who knows better can elaborate more please do.

I use Amsoil ATM in the motor and MTG in the gearbox. I use the Diaqueen stuff in the TC and rear diff though.

How do you like the Amsoil in the gearbox? How many miles have you gone with it so far?

I've got about 7,000 miles with it in the gearbox. My 6-speed is one the ones that has a touch of grind going into second gear during daily driving (no grind when driving hard though). I found that the MTG helped slightly with reducing the grind. Otherwise, I can't tell any difference between it and the stock Diaqueen. I pretty much use the Amsoil because of the better wear resistance that it provides.

I use AMSOIL fluids and filters every chance I get. Engines, trans, rear ends, and motorcycle. I like the TSO Series 2000 0w-30 in the engines.

Check out this to get with a discount http://www.modernoils.com/Purchase_at_Dealer_Cost.html

They also have free catalogs here. http://www.amsoil.com/AmsoilLogin/De...spx?zo=1132530

All the oil companies have either greatly reduced zinc and phosphorous in their oils as they were considered to be what was clogging catalytic converters. Even AMSOIL has reduced the amount in their oils but not to the point of where it is necessary for lubricating certain components.

The major point of concern where these additives were needed is on Flat Tappets, they were the "Sacraficial Lambs" so to speak.

I have a Hot Rod Show comming up later this year and am trying to get a couple of worn out cams from a friend at Crane Cams to show where AMSOIL is needed more than ever.

I also saw a comment on Mobil 1 being less expensive than AMSOIL. What is your Ride Worth ? Although Mobil 1 is a good oil, AMSOIL does out perform it in Dyno Tests and ASTM Tests. Every Dyno Run I have seen or heard of, has shown better results over Mobil 1 and any other oil.

AMSOIL is not that expensive when you buy it at wholesale, but you are not going to get it at wholesale using the corporate site as first posted.

I have used Mobil 1, Royal Purple, and AMSOIL 10w30 turbo formulation. The AMSOIL never burned any oil, however the Mobil 1 burned 1/4 a quart, and the Royal Purple burned 1/2 a quart over 3000 miles. AMSOIL is the SHIZZLE! It has been tested to have a higher flash point (takes high heat much better than other synthetics) so it works great in a high temp turbo engine like the 4G63.

If anyone wants AMSOIL dropped on their doorstep, at the lowest possible price, email me with the product and amount you are looking for. I have a deal for Forum members.

I ran Amsoil in my R32 for 2 years and had no problems. I ran two trackdays a year and did plenty of spirited driving. Great product

I plan on switching to Amsoil for my next oil change

I have a couple of Drag Racers running AMSOIL0W-30 and lowered their ET's by 2-3 tenths just switching over.
