Help!! Problems With Hallman MBC

I recently purchased a Brand new hallman pro mbc. I was ready to install, then decided I would prefer black. I found a member on this site to Trade. I ship it out, and he hooks it up just like his black one. The problem is, its only boosting to 12psi. Has Anyone ever received a fualty one from hallman? He said he turned both ways with no change In boost. Any suggestions

Could be a stuck ball inside the hallman. Tell him to take off the end nipple and check to make sure that the ball and spring are not stuck up in there.

hey i disassembled the mbc and first came out the nipple, then the ball, then the spring. it all came out after just shaking it out, so it didnt seem stuck... and i also check the black one and the configuration is the same.

That is the right configuration, since you have taken it apart already have you put it back together and then taken it for a drive again to see if it was working properly?

Also to clear this up you had a HBC in your car before and everything worked ok. Then you switched with someone else and now all the sudden you can not boost past wastegate pressure of 12psi....right????

yea i had a black one installed and was currently boosting 22psi and all i did was remove the hoses and put the red one in just like the black and after turning the knob and stopping and turning it again and again, it wouldnt go above 12psi.

the red one is brand new and probably have the soft spring in it. you probably need to put the other stiffer spring that came with the boost controller in to get higher boost.

Even with just the soft spring in you would boost more that 12psi. 12psi is wastegate pressure, that is what you get if you were to hook up a direct boost source to the wastegate. Or if the ball in your mbc was hung up in the open position.
