Exhaust Centering Q? Tips? (Megan Racing)

I have the Megan racing system from the DP back. VERY nice system for the money, all parts included (gaskets/bolts) and the sound is perfect!

However, under the rear bumper where the tip exits, mine is not centered. it is more to the drivers side. Now I am not converned about if for asthetic reasons, I am concerned about it from a plastic melting point of view. It has already gotten to some of it on the drivers side of the hole inside where you can't see but I don't want this to continue. Now I can pull it over and make it centered, but it won't stay there when I drive. The pipe is close to or right on the heat sheild for the gas tank so there isn't much give, but since I can pull it over and center it how can I make it stay?

Anyone else have to deal with this? Any brand exhaust can apply here, I was just saying what I had incase others with the MR system had the same issue.

Use small steel spacers above the hanger that connects directly above the canister to help move the exhaust more to the right.

You'll need to massage it into place but it'll work, or just buy a CF/SS exhaust heatshield.

I have the CF on order, but its close enough its gonna rub I think so I need to move it a tad anyway. I'll try the spacers tonight. Thanks!

Well I slid a washer on there and welded it in place and it seems to be doing the job

Hope you get it fixed. A friend of mine has the same exhaust and I've witnessed first hand his exhaust melting the crap out of his bumper.

I sure did. Just what was posted in the second post. Some sort of spacer works great. I am lazy and its easier for me to weld than to cut up some tubing for a spacer so I just marked it, slid a washer on, and welded it in place. As of this am its still in place and just a hair off center, but no melting. Now my CF heat shield shall be here soon and no one will ever know it got goopy on the inside

OK. i have the exact opposite of you. I have the JUN BL system it is angled, but it is still too far to the right. I went under and cant move the hanger, or move the rubber hangers to left anymore????

How do i move mine left? The rubber hanging is all the way to the left as possible on the metal bracket.

What side of the rubber hanger is the tab on your muffler connected to?

This may be a little ghetto but what about a spacer between the muffler mount and the rubber?

OR can your mount be bent or moved?
