GT35R and N20, anyone run this setup?

Does anyone on this board run a gt35r and nitrous. Im looking for some input on it. Any advice would be appreciated. Maybe proccoevo or tunedbycft can help out.

Here are some questions i have:

1. What shot did you run? 50? 75? 100?

2. How much power did you make?

3. Did you like the setup?

4. What were your times with and without it?

5. Did you have any problems at all?
-- I saw a thread about CFT having problems where the car was overboosting with the spray. Dont think they were running a 35r though. I think it was a 40r. is this a common problem? What do you do to fix it? An additional wastegate just like AMS uses to control the 42r on there manifold?

6. did it damage your motor? Built block or stock block?

7. how did you set it up?
- did you Connect it through the AEM and tune it using the nitrous map in the aem?

8. Did you launch with the nitrous or just start spraying it in 2nd gear?

9. what plugs did you use?

10. What fuel setup did you have?

Thanks in advance,
ERIK

Yup if i decide to do this it will all be with much help from UCC and of course some from Buschur Racing. Danny@UCC, a great friend of myne, has been bugging me for a while to spray the car. I was never a fan of nitrous but with cashflow not soo good right now its a cheap cheap, almost free, upgrade till i save for my next step. Maybe well see another 9 second pass this season?

and yes i have a built 2.0 block and stage 3 head thanks to Buschur racing!!

Well, I love nitrous on the stock turbo, rather than paying 3500 on a turbo kit, I paid 150 on a nitrous kit, and with just the mods in my sig, I can hang with some fast cars. I get about a 1-2 psi boost increase on a 75 shot, not bad at all, and you would think that such a small turbo would increase more.

The only track times I have are high 12 second passes without nitrous. Im waiting for my wideband to start getting to the track on nitrous. I want it to be a nice 12.5 afr when I spray, rather than the uber rich 11.0 I have it at because I cant monitor when I spray. Car runs 12.8-12.9@106-107 right now with out nitrous, and I have "excercised" with other cars and won when they trap about 112. With me on a rich 50 shot. (What I keep in day to day).

I know there are people out there who have this setup i want. I guess maybe the stereotype of nitrous users may be taking its toll. It seems as if a lot of them dont like broadcasting that they use it for some odd reason. Maybe with all the rumors of how bad nitrous is whether it is true or not they dont like talking about it in detail. If they talk about the problems that occur if they even have any it will just add to the rumor mill as to why "nitrous is bad". It Def sucks becuase those of us like me who are open about what we run will not be able to research it fully. Hopefully those people out there with the information im looking can step foward. Maybe even a vendor if possible because im far from the only person looking for this data.

You don't really want a nitrous car that lean. Nitrous likes to be on the rich side of things.

To the thread started:
I am wanting to use nitrous on my ITS 66mm turbo but I am getting tuned by Buschur also and he does not like nitrous at all. I will also be on a built 2.0 but I will have 10:1 compression.

There are a ton of stock turbo evos running nitrous. I've been in one myself. It seems to work very well with that setup. The cars usually trap around 120-123 with a shot ranging from 50-75. I just need some data about big turbo evos using spray.

When spraying nitrous your turbotends to overboost. With the stock turbo this may not be a problem. However with bigger turbos this could be. Thats an issue like i stated above i was interested about. See below:

2nd pass we bump up timing to run without the NOS and ran 10.1 @ 38psi NO NOS...

The rest of the day we tried to lower the boost and activate the nitrous but no luck, car was still overboosted, even lowering the Boost controller to 50%...

We just installed a 60mm Tial Wastegate, Lightweight brakes, and tomorrow we will start taking out all the weight...

Remember guys this car has Leather interiors, 18inch wheels, inside insulation, a/c, power steering, etc, etc... car weighs easily 3700 lbs. Hopefully after weight reduction it will weigh in @3200 lbs to be ready for NHRA Moroso event the end of this month...

Looking forward to next week testing...

Sincerely

CFT

I have no problem with anyone else wanting to discuss stock turbo and nitrous in this thread though cuz any information is better than none. Mostly want to hear about problems you have occured and how you fixed them.
