For those who said stock block can't hold over 500whp,i want to prove you are wrong.For hose who hit it,congrats ,post the dynograph(prefer run file so I could STD correct it) and mod list.

Evodave's old setup and Sean Ivey's car should be added to this list also. Both made a lot of power on stock block. It will last if the car isn't beat to death.

I'm surprised that people have only pushed it to the mid 500s. There's plenty of Honda guys pushing the stock K20a2 from the RSX-S to 450whp+...and that's an 11.0 compression motor with an open deck aluminum block.

I thought the same thing. I have a stock block b16a2 untuned running (irrelavent) but its running on 15 lbs with 10.0 compression and ive had it turbod since december of 04'. I beat the ***** off of it and i know the motor can take more just dont feel like dumpin more money cause i need injectors and a tune. (running stock b16 injectors to murder).

not very long at all. it's a timebomb waiting to go off with big turbos.

IIRC, RRE made 512whp on a stock MOTOR by just adding the Greddy 25G turbo kit...

I argree.Stock EVO motor should hold high 600whp,but no one push it .This is a surprise,no one flame me !!

There's a difference b/w what maximum power can be made on a stock block for just numbers sake and how much power the stock block can make and still be RELIABLE. I could care less if I could make 650whp on my stock block. Everybody knows that it would just be a huge timebomb and since my EVO is my only source of transportation, i would never push the stock block anywhere past 26psi/450whp. Just my 2 cents.

I dont have any dynographs on mine but I am somewhat confident that I would be in this category. At 26 psi the car traps at 128-129 mph. I run mine now at 30psi but had ignition issues which are now hopefully fixed so I will see what the new MPH is at 30psi.

Stock Block, Stock Head (Aside from HKS 272/272 and headstuds)
GT35R, .63 ar hotside, small E-cover
Shearer Header, Shearer o2 housing, custom 3" turboback
MBC, Magnus Intake Manifold, Aeromotive A-1000 & Fuel pressure regulator, -10 feed lines, fuel rail, -8 return lines, 8 gallon fuel cell
Tial 44mm wastegate, HKS ssqv BOV, custom lower, and upper ic pipes, Buschur deluxe FMIC
AEM EMS
TRE Race Transmission, Stock Rear End, Stock Axles, Stock T-Case, Stock Front diff

As for reliability... I drive mine daily. I beat the hell out of it. I have had well over 100 passes on the motor without failure.

Once I make a few passes without any problems (Ignition, shifting, etc...) I am expecting a 10.80 @ 132-133 on street tires. After I hit that goal I will throw on some slicks and most likely a 50 or 75 shot and see what it does with a little giggle juice. I plan on hitting a 9 second pass on the stock motor.

we we're able to see 520awhp on a mustang dyno with our stock 2.0
however, at this power level be very weary of the factory rod bolts

+1. My car made 472 WHP on a Mustang Dyno. I ran this HP level on a daily basis, driving the car hard all the time. The block lasted 15,000 Miles before rod knock. Whether or not the HP level was the main cause, who knows. I'm sure the motor is good for 550+ HP, but for how long. It's cool though, I'm building a 2.3 now.

Anyways, best of luck to all on the stock block with big turbo's. It sure was fun...
