As far as idle I am not sure which one has a more aggresive idle. As far as power, I was under the impression the cosworth cams produced bigger top end and peak horsepower gains while the S1s produce better power under curve.

 

Neither cam will really affect your idle much, unless you change the mivec cam timing @ idle. I installed my gsc 280/280 cams yesterday and it idles very close to stock because I set idle rpm to 1000 and advanced the intake cam timing. You should get which ever cams perform the best, then to get the "sound" you're looking for, set the idle rpm to 700, and leave the mivec timing at 0. Have fun keeping the car from stalling at stoplights, though.

The cossie cams will make more power than the S1s because simlpy they are more aggressive in every way. The S2s are more comparable in terms of power. Of course in every case the car has to have all the supporting mods to show the cams potential.

None of the cams has a lopey idle if tuned properly. Various posts have been made, videos have been posted and many reviews have been made that state that! Now especially for the more aggressive Cossies, since i have them, i can tell you that the car is not lopey 99%. Don't expect to hear an idle like the HKS280s on an Evo VIII! Someone whos heard lots of tuned IXs might be able to tell the difference, but again it is difficult...

Why the heck you want a lopey idle? You think you will scare people away if they hear a lopey idle on your car?

"...oohh, check the sound of this car! how lopey it is! it must be very fast! don't race him! i am scared... i want my mommy!!!..."

Lets get serious here!!! Try to do effective mods on your car that WORK and don't try to ruin it! You have to respect the car, if you want it to respect you! Period...
