Help with clutch replacement please!

YES, i did search already, so if thats what you are going to post....save it!

I have an 03 evo with 18,500 miles on it. I am having some warranty work done on the car and decided to throw in a Cusco twin plate clutch. I also am going to buy a stainless clutch line, new throwout bearing, and extended slave cylinder rod.

Is there anything else I need? Mitsu is installing the clutch while the have they trans out to replace the noisy input bearing (rattle @ idle). I read one thread where one person said to replace the flywheel bolts if it is removed?? I have never done this and replaced MANY clutches! I wanna know if I need to replace these bolts and if it was also neccessary to replace the throwout bearing at 18K miles!

Also, if there is anything I missed on my list, feel free to add! Thanks!

Yeah make sure you're there when they install the clutch just in case something goes wrong. If it does then at least you can point out what when wrong and who to blame for.

I just don't want to hear another "My clutch went to S*** after a week of install thnx to mitsu" story.

Definetly replace the TO bearing as long as its apart.See if you can throw the tech a 50 dollar bill to remove the restrictor pill from the slave cylinder. And there is no need to replace the flywheel bolts unless they are damged in any way which is doubtful.

Doesnt the stock flywheel get removed, as the twins have their own flywheels? Never looked, but I thought that is how it was.

50 for the pill, do it yourself for nothing... hell i even enlarged the passage on mine with a drill.. no need for new bolts, unless you got money to spend...

OK, I dont know why the member said anything about replacing the flywheel bolts.....I was wondering if they were stretch bolts and thought it was odd!!

I did order a new throwout bearing, extended slave cylinder rod, and stainless clutch line. Then the trans is done aside from shifter bushings....which I may go ahead and order as well!!

smokedmustang: Yes you remove the stock flywheel....can only use 1 at a time!

I am going to do some searching on the clutch rod issue. I was told you wouldnt get proper engagement/disengagement without it! I will update when I find out for sure.
