Does you clutch seem SOFT?
I was talking to salesperson @ ACT (AdvancedClutchTech) and I was bugging him to get me a clutch because mine seems so soft. His response was the reason behind the mushy feeling was an inline valve for the clutch fluid. From what I gathered at the time (I was a tad drunk) he was saying the fluid moves twice as fast when the clutch is pressed in, and much slower when it is released. Maybe Mitsubishi built this in as a fail safe for those of us that drop the clutch at 5000+ fairly often so they don't have as many warrenty issues.
Anyhow, I haven't peeked into the clutch system, but maybe some of our more adventourous EVO owners can shed some light on the issue... and figure out a bypass or fix.

For what its worth, I dont have an EVO, I have the OZ and my clutch seems way to soft compared to my best friends OZ. I found out that my slave syloide (spelling??) went bad, so Mitsubisi replaced the clutch and did a few other things. Clutch is still soft, but i have just delt with it. Maybe i'll get a new pressure plate instead.
