Has anyone?

Has anyone jumped from TBE + boost controller? (300whp) to a full blown gt35r (still stock 2.0litr) setup??

I would just like to know initial thoughts on the switch?

I was thinking about the FQ400 car, it uses a gt35r. :P so the driveablity cant be that bad.

^That's a gross assumption.

I'm sure someone tried it, but it's a bad idea without some internal work. I'm sure the FQ has some sort of factory fortification.

there is nothing wrong with using a GT35R..... There is no need for internals either.

Although, the stock block of the 4G63 is capable of 500 whp somewhat safely, the FQ 400 has a built bottom end.....and is as follows

Custom built Garret GT Dual Ball bearing Turbocharger
Owen Developments custom manufactured cast Stainless Steel Exhaust Manifold and Exhaust Elbow
Omega Forged Pistons
HKS Forged Con Rods
HKS 680cc Injectors
Zytec ITP116 High Pressure Fuel Pump
HKS 1.6mm Steel Head Gasket
Motec M800 OEM ECU
HKS Iridium Spark Plugs
Jan Speed High Flow Sports Cat

It makes 405BHP, which equates to about 340-345 whp. Very conservative even on stock 4g63 internals. I'm sure mitsubishi decided to build the bottom end up, not because the stock bottom end could not handle these power levels, but because it was fitted with a Garrett GT35R turbo that can well exceed the stock 4g63 internal's safety margin.
