to complete the turbo kit you will need an 02 housing, oil return, licp, silicone couplers, t bolt calamps, intake pipe.
you will also ned to loop the coolent hoses.

the turbo looks like crap. looks like a $150 ebay no name turbo. does not look like a quality garret or precision turbo.

I have everything already, there were just a few questions and so far they have been answered. I got this from another member on here and it is complete.

Hey, is there any way to tell for real what kind of turbo this is? It all came bolted together.

Thanks for your help.

I got your pm btw. Looks like most of your questions have been answered but if there's anything else let me know.

Here are a couple pics of what a PTE 50trim looks like. I only have the close up of the compressor housing and then the pic of the complete kit. You can see that both the turbine and compressor housings are noticeably different from yours. I've never seen what an ebay(xs power?) turbo looks like but I will say yours looks different than every garret and pte turbo I've ever seen.

Here are a couple random pics showing the oil feed and return for a non-bb 50 trim.

This just shows how I routed the oil feed along the side of the oil pan to the oil filter housing.

Should I get a different one? Will this one not make power like the other ones?

Also, what do I do about the oil feed from the head once I disconnect the factory setup?

Thanks

It's actually the compressor housing but yes you are correct. You run a line from that side fitting on the ext wastegate to your mbc. Then you run a line from your mbc to a pre-tb pressure source such as that brass fitting you see on my compressor housing pic.

If that turbo is indeed one of the cheaper ebay units, I wouldn't waste my time with it. I would consider purchasing a garret or pte turbo replacement.

I just grabbed a bolt the same size and pitch as the banjo and plugged the feed hole from the head.

How can I tell if it is a cheap ebay turbo? They actually sold kits with ebay turbos on them?

Why wouldn't you waste your time? What would be the downside? I know some ebay parts are good...SOME.

Also, what would be a good pre-TB pressure source if I do get another turbo without the fitting.

Thanks

Here is a link to a turbo on ebay that looks identical to yours. It's just a generic turbo from what I can tell. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/T3-T4...17973747QQrdZ1
Your kit is the first one I've seen come with an ebay turbo. Doesn't mean RnR hasn't pulled this **** with other customers. I'm just saying yours is the only one I'm aware about.

As far as a pre-tb pressure source, it looks like there's a brass plug on your compressor housing you could remove and replace with a 90deg barb fitting. If you decide to go with another turbo, most come with the fitting already.

Thank you for all your help so far. This does look almost identical to mine.

If I choose not to replace the plug on the turbo, what would be another good pre-tb pressure source?

One more thing, from the ebay auction this is a $200 turbo, is the hotside grap too? Also, just because these are inexpensive, what are the cons of this? I am already planning on setting my turbo timer to 3 minutes since this is non-BB so cool down will be pretty good. I am just trying to see how bad this could possibly be. If it will last me a year I will buy a new one then when this one breaks.

Thanks again.

I had a rnr 50 trim. It looked a little different as others have said. Wasn't a/r 50. I want to say it was .70 but not absolutly sure. I'll see if I can stop by the shop where the car is and get you some pic's.
Did the cams arrive today? With those cams and bb rnr 50 trim I was at 454/394 on 93 + meth.

Oh yeah, the cams came in yesterday. I meant to tell you, thanks. I picked up the turbo yesterday too, so I have kinda forgotten about everything else

What dyno did you put these numbers down on?

If I wanted to get turbo to replace this one, what do I need to look for? Could I put a 35R on this manifold?

Np. I understand the excitement.
Those were on a mustang dyno. 35r should bolt right up to that manifold. Thats what I was gonna do. Changed my mind and had a local shop make a custom mani for me.

Trim and A/R describe two different characteristics of a turbo.

Trim describes characteristics of a wheel.

A/R is a ratio of area and radius of a housing.

Did you buy this kit from RnR direct?? or from someone on the forum???

That turbo looks shady, RnR 'usually' uses garrett based turbo's from Precision & Peakboost. I would checkout the origin of that turbo, ask the person you got it from or RnR (if you got it direct).

Other than that your kit looks complete to me.

I get that. Go back and look at the pic's on the 1st page and tell me what his "housing" says.

I bought it off another member. What's done is done. I am going to put it on and hope for the best.
