What Next??

ok guys...

i have all the following mods:

GSC S1 cams
Fuel Pump
Greddy Intercooler
Toda Exhaust manifold
Invidia O2 housing +TBE
Works Drop in filter (HKS on order)
Greddy profec bspec II EBC
Ralli-art thermostat
Exedy Clutch kit + flywheel (sucks coz i am experiencing lockouts at every gear when shifting hard and quick)
Greddy Upper/lower intercooler pipes
ARP head studs
Flash

parts on order:
Agency power Fuel Rail
AMS Fuel Pressure regulator
RC 750cc injectors
HKS super suction
Supertech Valve springs and retainers
HKS 1.2mm head gasket

now the question is...i am thinking of upgrading my turbo..and i really need a little bit of top end however i dont want to loose my crazy midrange and bottom end torque...i will be pushing about 24 psi....

which turbo do you guys advise me to go with?
20 gLT? AMS 50 trim? Hks 3037? any other brand????

guys remember this is for an evo IX..already pushing 397whp/371 Wtrq on a dynojet at 23 psi....

thanks in advance

AMS 30R kit, AEM or Motec. People are going to say to get a meth kit but since your not going to big with the turbo there is no point because you can get easy with the mods you have and a 30R on pump gas easy 450-480 on pump. And with 110oct you can get well over 520whp then the turbo is pretty maxed out at that point but the spool will feel like stock and you will pull very hard.

Once you get to the point that you want more power start looking into building your block and porting your head. There is so many ways you can go with a block im not even go into that.

But if you have the money i would look into getting a JUN race block not there reg. block. There race blocks are so well made there is almost not motor vibration at all. I drove in a evo with this motor it was 10 times better then my built block its so balance its not even funny. But it cost him 8 grand for the motor.

If you're not going to run meth, and you specifically want to retain low-end torque and midrange, the Green/20gLT is for you... the consensus so far is showing almost identical spool and stock feel with a topend gain of about 30-40whp - this may not be enough for you.

The bigger you go, the more low-end torque you'll exchange for top-end whp...

Get the Green turbo for about a grand - it bolts right on. If you don't like it, put it up for sale in the classifieds forum... I'm sure it won't last long...

yeah, check out CBRD's thread showing gains on a IX...

BTW, from what you said your goals where - more power while retaining low-end torque and midrange - IMO, you would be very happy with a Green on meth

I'm still trying to figure out how you're putting down 397awhp on pump 93 with a stock turbo

My cammed, bolt-on IX is only running in the 350's/340's on pump

definitely a green or 50 trim. if you don't want too much lag and more top-end power.

at first..i was putting 364whp/365trq after the ecutek ~$800 tune!!
then a tuner from singapore...(a great tuner) trained by HKS... flew in for vacation to dubai and happened to have time to tune my car..he spent 13 hours tuning my car...this was the outcome..
i cannot be more happy..but you know..the speed bug when it bites...it bites!

I would suggest going with a 50trim Turbo.........nice spool up and more topend. Good for pump gas and stock block.
