cosworth cams not making power anymore?

i heard that cosworth 9 cams used to make about 15-20whp on the evo 9s and they redesigned them so now they aren't making nearly as much power...a local tuner noticed this...and my friend also said he researched this issue and has heard the same. i want to buy the cams but im not going to pay near 1000 for anything less than 15-20whp.....

GSC S1 are $599 I believe. they seem to be the winner for the IX stock turbo.

they both suck....

i know a guy who was tuned well before and after for the gsc and picked up less than 1mph in the trap...

and i personally tuned a cosworth cammed car before and after and there was tops 10whp made. 3 of us in the car for the before and after couldnt feel a difference and the day the retune was done it was 10-15 deg cooler... DLL graphs show a 8whp gain... the graph does look slightly better, but nothing significant..

my .02

Cheers!

dude this is total bullcra p .... me and a friend here bought the evos together and modded exactly the same part by part...we both put the same parts at the same time and we were always almost the same speed...however now i have the s1 cams he decided not to go this route...so the only mod i have over him are the GSC S1 cams...we are tuned by the same tuner...when we give it a go...i pull on him atleast 4~5 cars consistantly...we both came to a conclusion that the cams actually make a huge difference.
the car has crazy midrange torque and a simmilar op end pull..it pulls all the way to redline smoothly but like a train...

now this friend i have mentioned went and bought the new HKS mivec cams..he will install and tune them in the winter (october) coz its too hot here...
i will let you know how they compare.

and please i am bored of saying this over and over again....:

The GSC's on Dxbevo's car made a huge noticeable difference over the stock.. My butt dyno couldn't be wrong! I pleaded him to stop after 4th gear!!

My GSC's are in now and the 50Trim is installed, Dxbevo.. Watch behind you, there's a new monster in town! ;-)

it seems as if people are either getting good results with them, or nothing great. But there was the one evo from PR that did really well with them in the 1/4

actually i do have first hand experience... as most of you know i tune cars as does my friend. afr boost the remained the same, changes in timing...

as for the car i tuned the same situation...

there is a possibility your car is just stronger than his, so i wouldnt go off an say no first hand experience...

Cheers!

Cosi cams DO work, its all about the tunning.. Theres a Evo IX in Puerto Rico that trapped 117 and then trapped 122, the only thing they did was add the cosi cams and retune the car..That car now i believe is running 11.3 on the stock turbo
